# Guangdong: tea basis of drawings

13 major territories and processing hubs were researched. This is the scope of the author's assignment, not a census of all farms, varieties and villages. The information expands the original map; it is not declared to have been depicted on it initially. Placement in the illustrations is conventional, and free compositions are not geographical maps.

## YINGDE / QINGYUAN

Yingde / Qingyuan

**Territories:** Yingde; Qingxin; Lianzhou / Liannan / Lianshan / Yangshan

**Confirmed tea base:** black tea; northern mountain green tea; Qingxin Chenxiang tea

**Relative position:** Northwestern tea hub; west of Shaoguan, north of the delta.

**Artistic scene:** A large young tea shoot, arcs of tea rows, and a picker's basket; nearby a compact fan of twisted red/black tea.

**Limits of the claim:** Do not administratively assign Yingde to Shaoguan: Yingde is in Qingyuan. The black-and-red color in the drawing is an artistic marker, not a chemical or color standard.

**Confirmed tea basis:** Baimao downy-bud tea resources; green tea; black tea; selected white-tea processing

**Relative position:** Upper northern belt; Renhua near Danxia, east of Yingde.

**Artistic scene:** Enlarged downy tea buds, tea rows in front of individual red Danxia pillars.

**Claim boundaries:** Baimao describes white down and tea resources, does not automatically mean white tea. Selected white teas are confirmed by the institute; do not extend them to all counties.

## ZHAOQING / DEQING

**Confirmed tea basis:** green tea

**Relative position:** West of Guangzhou, north of Yunfu/Xinxing; on the western river route.

**Artistic scene:** Low tea bushes and a narrow open river ribbon; a young leaf and a separate group of dried green leaves.

**Limits of the claim:** The simple caption DEQING GREEN TEA is verifiable. This is Guangdong Deqing (德庆), not Zhejiang Deqing (德清); do not use deqing.gov.cn as a local source.

## YUNFU / XINXING

**Relative position:** South of Deqing/Zhaoqing, west of Jiangmen.

**Artistic scene:** A steep fan of Xiangwo terraces with a small picker, open contour peaks.

**Boundaries of assertion:** Xiangwo means a place name: do not draw elephants as if it were confirmed local fauna.

**Artistic scene:** An opened mandarin peel with leaf tea, drying peels on a rack and a citrus twig, all as separate small objects.

**Claim boundaries:** This is a citrus tea processing/culture node, not a claim about local Pu’er plantations. The peel does not depict the aroma of any other tea zone.

**Confirmed tea base:** green-tea production zone in provincial plan; some black-tea development in provincial plan

**Relative position:** southwest, northeast of Zhanjiang and southwest of Yunfu.

**Artistic scene:** A mountain tea garden and picking into a bamboo basket; the distinctive silhouette of gently sloping long rows.

**Approval boundaries:** Do not add cultivar, ancient tree age, or Dawuling high-flavonoid tea: local 石崖茶 may be a different botanical species. Only the broad zoning of the official plan is used here.

**Boundaries of claim:** Do not reduce Lianjiang to green tea: modern confirmation highlights oolong. The palm is a map/landscape metaphor, not evidence of tea cultivation on the beach.

**Confirmed tea base:** pan-fired green tea; Baitang mountain tea

**Relative position:** East of the delta, south of Heyuan/Zijin and west of Jieyang.

**Artistic scene:** A large graceful small-leaf shoot, tea bushes between two open mountain peaks, a small hand tea wok.

**Boundaries of the claim:** Purple buds are acceptable as a separate verifiable Baitang motif, but do not present a purple infusion of all local teas as fact. Do not illustrate Xianren tea with fantasy immortals as a landmark.

**Artistic scene:** Enlarged tea leaf with a tiny wedge-shaped green leafhopper and tea rows; next to it a separate round basket of leaves.

**Boundaries of assertion:** Leafhopper is a small leafhopper, not a large singing cicada, not a bee; honey aroma does not mean the addition of honey. The processing type here is not one.

**Artistic scene:** Rows of the Yannanfei garden and low Hakka architecture, a fan of long oolong and a small hand wok of green tea.

**Limits of the claim:** Sub-districts are included, not reduced to a single variety. Waterfalls, building heights, and tree ages are not asserted without separate confirmation.

**Claim boundaries:** Yongcheng is confirmed as 永成 in the enterprise name; the names Dakeli and Zhentoudong are left only in the tea.travel layer, without unverified translations.
